1. About these terms

These terms apply when you create an account or use Konetuto in any way. By creating an account you agree to them. If you’re creating an account for a learner, you agree on their behalf.

Our privacy policy explains how we use personal information and forms part of these terms.

2. Accounts

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password private. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
• Parents and guardians manage accounts for younger learners and are responsible for their use of Konetuto.
• You may not create an account for someone else without their permission, or pretend to be someone else.

3. How Konetuto works

Konetuto helps families find, book and learn with tutors, and keeps a record of lessons and progress. Tutors are responsible for the teaching they deliver and for the accuracy of their profiles.

4. Tutor verification

We check tutors before their profiles go live, as described on how verification works. A “Verified” badge means those checks were completed. It is not a guarantee of results, and families should still choose the tutor who best fits their learner.

5. Bookings and payments

• You’ll see the lesson price, duration, time in your timezone and the cancellation terms before you pay.
• Payments are taken by our payment providers. A booking is confirmed only after payment succeeds.
• All payments for lessons found on Konetuto must be made through Konetuto. Paying tutors directly is not allowed and removes our protections.
• Prices may be shown in different currencies. Your bank may charge conversion fees.

6. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds

The cancellation terms shown when you book apply to that lesson. Unless the booking says otherwise:

• You can cancel for free up to 24 hours before a lesson. Later cancellations are charged in full.
• You can reschedule once per lesson up to 12 hours before it starts, if the tutor has a suitable time.
• If a tutor misses a lesson or it can’t take place because of a problem on our side, you can choose a refund or a replacement lesson.

7. Lessons and conduct

• Lessons take place online through the link on the lesson page, or in person where agreed on Konetuto.
• Everyone must behave respectfully and follow our safeguarding rules, especially with learners under 18.
• Tutors must record attendance and submit a lesson report after each lesson.
• Lessons are not recorded unless everyone involved is told in advance and, for minors, a parent or guardian agrees.

8. Reviews

Only families who have completed a paid lesson with a tutor can review them. Reviews must be honest and about the lessons. We may remove reviews that are abusive, contain personal information or break these terms, but we don’t remove reviews simply because they are negative.

9. Things you must not do

• Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone.
• Share false information, including fake qualifications or reviews.
• Ask for or share contact details to move lessons or payments off Konetuto.
• Upload material that you don’t have the right to share.
• Interfere with the platform’s security, or access accounts or data that aren’t yours.

10. Your content and ours

You keep ownership of what you upload, such as homework, resources and profile text. You give Konetuto permission to store and show it as needed to run the service. The Konetuto name, logo and platform belong to us.

11. Our responsibility to you

We work hard to keep Konetuto available and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or that any learner will achieve a particular grade. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be excluded.

12. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. Paid lessons that haven’t taken place will be handled under the refund terms above.
