Community guidelines

Konetuto works when learners, families and tutors can trust each other. These rules apply to everyone.

Last updated 11 October 2026. Questions about this page? Contact us. All our policies are listed on the Legal page.

1. Be respectful

  • Treat everyone with courtesy in lessons, messages, reviews and reports.
  • No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech or discrimination, including on the basis of religion, ethnicity, gender, disability or background.
  • No sexual content or comments of any kind, and nothing unsuitable for children.

2. Be honest

  • Use your real identity and accurate details. Tutors’ qualifications and experience must be true.
  • Reviews must describe real lessons honestly. Don’t offer anything in exchange for a review, and don’t review yourself.
  • Don’t copy other people’s work as your own, or help learners cheat in exams.

3. Keep it on Konetuto

  • Book and pay for lessons on Konetuto. Don’t ask for or offer direct payment.
  • Keep messages on Konetuto. Don’t share phone numbers, emails or social media to move contact elsewhere, especially with learners under 18.
  • Use the lesson link on Konetuto for online lessons.

4. Keep learners safe

Follow our safeguarding rules. If you’re worried about a learner, or someone behaves in a way that makes you uncomfortable, use Report a problem on the booking or report a concern. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services first.

5. Use the platform fairly

  • Don’t try to get into other people’s accounts or data, or get around our security.
  • Don’t use bots, scrape the site, or send spam.
  • Don’t upload viruses, or material you don’t have the right to share.
  • Use Tutor-Ai and our other AI tools to learn, not to cause harm or produce unsafe content.

6. What happens if the rules are broken

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, give a warning, hide a tutor’s profile while we review it, or suspend or close the account. Emails and phone numbers of closed accounts may be blocked from new accounts. We report illegal activity and serious safeguarding concerns to the authorities.

If you think we got a decision wrong, contact us and someone who wasn’t involved will look at it again.
